Nursing negligence at center of legal claim in another state

nursing negligence

Many Louisiana families have been adversely affected by substandard medical care. When a beloved family member suffers an untimely death due to nursing negligence, the situation often leaves a trail of devastation in its wake. Surviving loved ones may experience feelings of anger and frustration, knowing they entrusted their family member’s care to professionals who failed in their duties.

One woman has filed a legal claim on behalf of a decedent whose health gravely declined while being cared for in a nursing facility. Acting as administrator of the man’s estate, the plaintiff has alleged that the deceased had suffered greatly from multiple falls and bed sores while under the care of staff members at the nursing home. It is further asserted that because he was not properly cared for, his health suffered quick and serious decline.

Nursing staff failed to supervise the man as they should have, according to the complaint. They also allegedly did not provide needed medical care on several occasions. It is claimed that these and other factors apparently contributed to the man’s death.

Compensation for damages caused by nursing negligence in Louisiana varies according to the details of individual situations. The woman in this particular case has requested more than $50,000. It is only right that those responsible for a person’s death be held financially accountable for their actions. Although no amount of court-awarded monies can serve as a replacement for the loss of human life, such compensation is often helpful when medical bills and funeral expenses accumulate.
